Monday May 29th begins with an observance program at 10:00 AM at the Chatham V.F.W.
Our featured speaker will be Captain Kenneth L. Kitchen.
Ken grew up in Shreve, OH. He is a graduate of Triway High School, The
University of Akron and the Ohio Military Academy. He has served in the U.S.
military (both active duty and reserve) a total of 24 years.
Ken fought in Vietnam with the Second Battalion, Ninth Marines in 1966 and
1967. After leaving the Marine Corps, he served in the Ohio National Guard
and U.S. Army Reserve as an Armored Cavalry Officer.
Following the program, all are welcome to take part in the parade which forms for a procession to the center of town for a
service at the Veterans Memorial Monument, then returns to the VFW. Afterwards, a community picnic will be held at the VFW pavilion. All are encouraged to bring their family and enjoy! Please provide a covered dish to share. Paper products & drinks furnished.
The Historical Society will have the museums and Old Town Hall open for visiting. The Town hall features a permanent, extensive display of antique farm tools & equipment.

Chatham Clean Up - Disposal Opportunity
Due to budget limitations, we are not having a Township "Dumpster Day" this year. However, the Medina
County Solid Waste District is offering a reduced gate rate to Chatham Residents for bulk trash
disposal at the District's processing facility located at 8700 Lake Road, Seville, 44273 during normal operating hours M-F 6AM-4:30, Sat 7AM-Noon.
Residents will need a "voucher" in order to dispose of trash at a special rate of $30/per ton.

Chatham Township was founded in 1818. We have formed a committee to plan events
for the upcoming bicentennial in 2018. If you are interested in helping plan this historic milestone,
please consider attending our next meeting on Monday June 5th, 7PM in the Community Center
gym at 6306 Avon Lake Road.
The Medina County Solid Waste District has placed 4 recycling bins at our
Maintenance Garage located at 6539 Avon Lake Road. These are for "Single Stream" recycling
which allows you to place all your recyclable items mixed together in one bin.

Antique Engine Show & Pie Contest
On Saturday June 24th 11AM - 4PM the Chatham Bicentennial Committee will have an
Antique Engine & Power Show. There are no entry fees. For additional information

We have house wares, toys, furniture etc. Thrift room is open during most events at
the Community Center. Our volunteers will accept monetary "free will donations" for these goods.
The proceeds are used to purchase food, refreshments, maintenance items etc. used at the Community Center.
Have leftover items from your garage or yard sale? We accept all useable items except clothes.

"Friends of the CTCC" a volunteer group whose efforts make the Community Center and its many events possible Anniversary, Retirement, Birthday and Graduation Parties

outdoor playground for kids you are guaranteed to have fun rain/snow or shine!
